>Onderstaand bericht plaatste ik eerder als reactie bij de aankondiging van een symposium over Iran, bij Jan Marijnissen.

Wie een beetje oplet ziet dat de publieke opinie momenteel zwaar wordt opgeklopt om een nieuwe oorlog te legitimeren.

Nog afgezien van het foutief citeren van Ahmadinejad over Israël en het opnieuw oprakelen van het WMD-sprookje, maar nu voor Iran:

-Iranian forces crossed Iraqi border: report

Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces have been spotted by British troops crossing the border into southern Iraq, The Sun tabloid reported on Tuesday.

Britain’s defence ministry would not confirm or deny the report, with a spokesman declining to comment on “intelligence matters”.

An unidentified intelligence source told the tabloid: “It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full on war with Iran — but nobody has officially declared it.”

“We have hard proof that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have crossed the border to attack us. It is very hard for us to strike back. All we can do is try to defend ourselves. We are badly on the back foot.”

-Israel braces for July war with up to five enemies

Israel is preparing for an imminent war with Iran, Syria and/or their non-state clients.

Israeli military intelligence has projected that a major attack could come from any of five adversaries in the Middle East. Officials said such a strike could spark a war as early as July 2007.

On Sunday, Israeli military intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin told the Cabinet that the Jewish state faces five adversaries in what could result in an imminent confrontation. Yadlin cited Iran, Syria, Hizbullah, Hamas and Al Qaida.


(let wel: er wordt al enige tijd gespeculeerd over een rematch tegen Hezbollah. Kennelijk wil men het wat groter aanpakken deze zomer. Ook worden de banden met de Navo alvast aangehaald.)


-Trainingskampen in Israël:

BALADIA CITY, Israel — In a new, elaborate training center in the Negev desert, Israeli troops — and someday, U.S. Marines and soldiers — are preparing for the wide range of urban scenarios they may confront.

Here, at Israel’s new National Urban Training Center, the Israeli Defense Force’s Ground Forces Command is preparing forces to fight in four theaters: Gaza, Lebanon, the West Bank and Syria.

Built by the Army Corps of Engineers and funded largely from U.S. military aid, the 7.4-square-mile generic city — balad, in Arabic, means village — consists of 1,100 basic modules that can be reconfigured by mission planners to represent specific towns.


-En de klapper van de week:

de voorbereiding van het Bush-regime op een nóg nieuwer Pearl Harbour (dé ideale aanleiding voor een nóg nieuwere oorlog), en de daarop volgende binnenlandse repressie, door middel van de NSPD-51 -richtlijn. En reken maar dat ook in Nederland misbruik van zo’n nieuwe Pearl Harbour gemaakt zal gaan worden, om nog meer privacy-schendende maatregelen in te voeren, en nóg een foute oorlog te steunen.

De eerste voortekenen waren er al in Europa, door de wens van Wilders om op “relschoppers” te kunnen schieten, en door het behandelen van G8-demonstranten als potentiële terroristen. De conditionering van de publieke opinie is een nieuwe fase in gegaan. Daarom:
