Dezelfde neocons hebben tegenwoordig bovendien goede banden met de zionistische AIPAC-lobby<\/a>, en worden door zeer veel mensen (waaronder een aantal beroemdheden<\/a>, maar ook gewone mensen als ik <\/span>zelf<\/a>) als hoofdverdachte voor de aanslagen van 9\/11<\/a>, hun gedroomde “nieuwe Pearl Harbour<\/a>,” gezien.<\/p>\n

De oorlogen tegen Irak en Afghanistan werden gevoerd uit naam van hun leugens<\/a>, gesteund door onze eigen regering Balkenende (broer van<\/a>)…wiens huidige kabinet, gesteund door fanatieke Neder-neocons,<\/a> zich daarom met hand en tand verzet tegen een parlementair onderzoek<\/a> naar de aanleiding voor de Nederlandse steun aan de oorlog. Sterker nog, zelfs steun aan een preventieve oorlog tegen Iran<\/a> wordt niet uitgesloten<\/a>.

De “take-over” van de Amerikaanse politiek door figuren als Cheney, Wolfovitz en gastheren als George W. Bush en Karl Rove kan v\u00e9rstrekkende gevolgen hebben voor de relaties tussen de VS en Europese landen. Z\u00f3ver zelfs, dat sommigen zelfs speculeren over Europa als een toekomstig Irak<\/span>:<\/p>\n

The Department of State lists the countries which consist of democracies, dictatorships, kingdoms, leftist governments, rightist governments, authoritarian governments, etc. In other words, there is no common political persuasion to the opposition of U.S. policy worldwide. U.S. foreign policy has taken away the freedom to travel for many of its citizens and turned what was once an enjoyable vacation into a life-threatening experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every day conservative U.S. ideologues deepen the rift by accusing Europeans alternatively of being arrogant, incompetent or simply stupid. The bill is rising so fast because the level of war profiteering is unprecedented. The Excess Report lists George David, CEO of United Technologies, as the top earner, making more than $200 million since 9\/11, despite investigations into the poor quality of the firm’s Black Hawk helicopters. <\/span><\/p>\n

Halliburton CEO David Lesar made $26.6 million in 2005, and nearly $50 million since 9\/11, an amount that even beats the $24 million that Dick Cheney received in exchange for the guarantee that Halliburton would be the number one military contractor during the Bush administration. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cheney himself is also taking in war profits, contrary to what he told Tim Russert on “Meet the Press” in 2003, when he denied making any money off his former employer. “Since I left Halliburton to become George Bush’s vice president,” he said, “I’ve severed all my ties with the company, gotten rid of all my financial interest.” Lees verder op Counterpunch.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
