Washington sets stage for a new confrontation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/img456.imageshack.us\/img456\/7255\/logo7ey.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 118px; height: 118px;\" src=\"http:\/\/img456.imageshack.us\/img456\/7255\/logo7ey.gif\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;\">De<a href=\"http:\/\/johnito.blogspot.com\/2007\/02\/geen-tweede-irak-in-iran-geplande_11.html\"> voorspelde mediacampagne<\/a> om Iran in diskrediet te brengen is inmiddels in volle gang. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Patrick Cockburn laat zich in <a href=\"http:\/\/news.independent.co.uk\/world\/politics\/article2261526.ece\">The Independent <\/a>echter geen zand in de ogen strooien:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p> The United States is moving closer to war with Iran by accusing the &#8220;highest levels&#8221; of the Iranian government of supplying sophisticated roadside bombs that have killed 170 US troops and wounded 620. <\/p>\n<p> The allegations against Iran are similar in tone and credibility to those made four years ago by the US government about Iraq possessing weapons of mass destruction in order to justify the invasion of 2003.[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The White House may have decided that, in the run up to the 2008 presidential election, it would be much to its political advantage in the US to divert attention from its failure in Iraq by blaming Iran for being the hidden hand supporting its opponents. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.independent.co.uk\/world\/politics\/article2261526.ece\">Lees het hele artikel op Independent<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;\">Iran zal zich heus niet volledig passief opstellen. Ik zie echter wel een duidelijk patroon: de <a href=\"http:\/\/johnito.blogspot.com\/2007\/01\/op-naar-iran-wt-er-ook-gebeurt.html\">campagne<\/a> om Iran neer te zetten als land dat kernwapens wil ontwikkelen om te gebruiken tegen de \u201cbeschaafde wereld\u201d is mislukt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\"> Opeens wordt Iran neergezet als wapenleverancier voor terroristen die Amerikaanse levens eisen. Het probleem is echter dat de VS vooral strijd levert met Sunni\u2019s, gezworen vijanden van Iran. Zoals o.a. dit artikel zegt: \u2018The US has been fighting a Sunni insurgency in Iraq since 2003 that is deeply hostile to Iran\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">Daarnaast is het een beetje lullig om te moeten constateren dat vooral de VS <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalresearch.ca\/index.php?context=viewArticle&#038;code=20070211&amp;articleId=4753\">verantwoordelijk is<\/a> voor de bewapening van Shi&#8217;itische milities in Irak; en dat de milities die door Iran worden geholpen, tevens de bondgenoten van Bush en co zijn&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: italic;\"> Het is echt zoeken, \u00f3\u00f3k volgens <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/news\/2007\/Frm._Bush_NSC_Dir._says_US_0212.html\">Witte Huis-insiders<\/a>, naar redenen om een oorlog te starten.
