First, the Bush administration has decided to abandon its longstanding position that it would meet face to face with Iran only after the country suspended its uranium enrichment, as demanded by the United Nations Security Council<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Second, an American partner at the table injects new importance to the negotiating track of the six global powers confronting Iran \u2014 France, Britain, Germany, Russia, China and the United States \u2014 even though their official stance is that no substantive talks can begin until uranium enrichment stops. Misschien dat men in het Witte Huis eindelijk inziet dat een aanval op Iran onevenredig verstrekkende gevolgen<\/a> zou kunnen hebben. Zeg maar gerust: WW III<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

De negatieve houding van de regering <\/a>van Irak<\/a> <\/a>ten opzichte van de Amerikaanse confrontatiepolitiek<\/a> richting Iran zal de Amerikaanse warmongers<\/a> ook niet echt geholpen hebben.<\/p>\n

We kunnen alleen maar hopen dat de huidige diplomatieke bewegingen van serieuze aard zijn, en dat de <\/span>wild card<\/a> (de haviken<\/a> in Isra\u00ebl<\/a>) geen roet in het eten zal gooien<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
